Since mid-February I've been trying my hand at gardening for the first time!!!  This tiny house blog is all just yard pictures but for me it really makes the house!  It is hard to believe the pictures are only 4 months worth of work in the yard.  Many of the plants were started from seeds my sister gave me this winter.  At the end of the summer I can have the deck stained to match the trim on the house.

I have had a few tiny disasters like water coming through my walls but it is solved now with gutters and sealing the outside of the house where the trim is.  Luckily I have been able to resolve things as they come up.  Mostly.

Oops! Too early. One last freeze came and everything had to come back inside.

Front yard gardening and deck planting...

 Shade sail and party lights!

New dirt in front

Screens for my big doors and windows!

Weeping Cherry Tree

 Purple Marin house

 Backyard garden construction project

Moving dirt around to areas that were not growing.  =)

I get a lot of visitors too....

How did this get inside?

 Hoping for some more bats

It has been a while since I have updated because things are moving a bit slower than I anticipated.  As it always does!

Once the house arrived in late December and I had water and power the pergola was installed and I couldn't be happier with it!

Then of course I had to make sure the TV would work...

You can watch it from the living room loft or even outside!

Worked on organizing my closet space with rolling clothes racks and shelves...

Then it became very cold and all progress stopped while I fought freezing pipes and cold drafts from the windows (which has been much improved after some adjustments to the window casing and windows but not totally resolved yet).

On January 16th I took almost a 4 week break for hip surgery!

My utilities are hid

Meanwhile progress did not completely stop, my back stairs, utility fence and deck was installed.  I went from these stairs

to this... (thanks to Bill and John Vernor!)

I have to wait one summer to stain the decks so the chemicals will be out of it so it stands out a bit.

I am still in the process of getting curtains altered but the rods are all up and the curtains purchased.  They make a big difference in the feel of the house so I will be glad when they come back.

I only get an hour here and there to work on things so it might be a while before I really feel organized inside.  I could do it this weekend but I plan on spending most my time outside getting ready for SPRING!

The area below and around the front deck will be where I am doing my planting.
