Some tiny house exterior progress.......

The cedar has been clear coated and the trim is stained.

Interior bathroom walls are framed....

Interior choices are made -below are the things I am going with.  It is super hard because I would not normally use these products but weight was an issue so I did the best I could within the restraints and I am very happy with what I found.

Flooring - laminate

Turkeys!

Lots of fall planting going on.  The results of which are not all immediately noticeable.  We will see how next Spring goes.

An idea Jody gave me that it so good it is scary:

Hopefully there will be big things happening soon on the inside.  Maybe a month to completion?

I am getting closer!!!

The cedar ceiling is complete...

The cedar on the  exterior is on.  I spent a lot of time looking for alternatives on the exterior but in the end decided to go with the cedar.  The other possibility I really considered was faux panels.  They do have a lot of upside and some of them look really good, with little maintenance but the price compared to wood makes it a hard choice.

In the end I went with the cedar and the only downside is that it will require some maintenance every few years.

The Princess's cat door is cut....

Time to start on the inside.  Tiny house appliances take a lot of thought.  I don't want them to feel "small" but I do want them to fit nicely and not take up 1/2 my available space.  Blomberg makes appliances that are used in a lot of NY apartments which are often smaller than my house so I went with them for the fridge and dishwasher.  I hope I found a good compromise between size, space and function.  I really wanted a decent size freezer and ice maker, that narrowed the options down considerably.  I will end up getting a large toaster oven and maybe a convection microwave to take the place of an oven.  I just don't use the oven that much.  I think the larger toaster oven will be more than adequate for my needs.  Other than that it should have the same things as any large kitchen would.

The patio will be started this Monday so I went ahead and got the fireplace.  I can sit out there before the house arrives and bond with the space.  =)

I have water, power and sewer now.  Water means I can start planting next weekend!
A few things from Etsy I will start growing this fall (but the elephant ears need to spend the first winter inside).

Things are starting to seem real now.  Things to decide on soon include flooring, wall color, cabinets, sinks and faucets.

Since my last post the house has not changed too much due to waiting on the cedar for the exterior, ceiling and bathroom walls. However, that doesn't mean no progress has been made.  I've been working on preparing the site.  Mostly planning the prep at this point but a few things have happened.

I have staked out the area so I could see how things are from that location.

Here is the sunset from my future decks....

Dialed 811 to have things marked.  The electrical should be installed in the next week or two. After that is the water and septic.

Had 2 trees removed that would threaten the house if they fell.
Bought a mailbox to replace the current one.

I decided to get a pergola to provide shade over the decks that will go under the Panoramic windows and doors.  I found The Creative Handyman on Etsy, he made the one below, he will make it then deliver and install.

I also found this type of fence that is exactly how I wanted mine.

I am looking at all the different vines to grow on my pergola and fence.  Here are a few I want to try:

And finally, I found someone to quote a stamped concrete patio for out back.

I am hoping for a delivery date in late October.  It is probably best I didn't have any idea of the scope of this project before I started but now I am having a great time!!!

I have been meaning to do this blog for a few weeks but haven't been able to get to it.  I will see the house this afternoon and there might be some updates but here is where it was at 2 weeks ago.

The Panoramic windows and big slider are in!

The custom water tank has been completed.  It will go under the other side of the kitchen floor once installed. A pantry will be enclosing the electrical box and the water tank will be under the floor in that area.

Here are other pictures....

The tub issue could not be resolved so the tub needed to go back. I could have ordered a similar one that would fit but I have decided to go with a shower instead.  Additionally, I decided that due to changes in my work circumstances it would be too stressful to try to finish all this work myself,  Perch and Nest will not be doing to work to finish it.

The bathroom will be cedar and stacked stone.  Here is a giant size version of what I have in mind.

I also want cedar ceilings but I am deciding against the white walls today...

And, after much looking at other materials I am going with a cedar exterior.  I'm thinking a darker floor but not positive.  It is all just a bit hard to picture exactly the way I want it.  =)

More to come!....
